EXCEPTIONAL SURFACE PATINA of oxidized original RARE bittersweet paint, inside and out. Superb form, with double wrapped top, heavy tight splint construction, and beautifully shaped carved and notched handle.Excellent overall condition with one of three bottom “runners” worn off ages ago…otherwise perfect.

Crisp, small valuables box, with original, bright, faux tiger and birdseye maple paint, protected by it’s original thin varnish, in excellent untouched condition. Snipe hinges, T-head nails, lapped joint construction, all in pristine, untouched condition. New Hampshire origin.

FORGED IRON EARLY-MID 18TH C ROASTING FORK.
Excellent, well detailed American roasting fork. A delicate pig-tail hanging hook, above flattened tapering, shouldered body, with tapering “turned” central double baluster, vase and reel design, above shaped, shouldered, flattened shaft, terminating in “turned” two-tine fork. Boldly conceived, and expertly executed design, in untouched wonderful original surface. Probably a presentation piece….blacksmithing at it’s best.

EARLY PAINTED SPLIT OAK SERVING OR GATHERING BASKET.
Rare form, shallow, double handled oval splint basket, tightly woven, with tacked, double applied fingered rim, in excellent, dry, original Windsor green painted surface, inside and out. Late 19th or early 20th C, found in MASS. Superb overall condition, with no breaks and very minor sliver to one backside splint. Displays nicely either as tabletop or wall hung item.

KINGSBURY GOLDEN ARROW RACER, 1929 WORLD’S FASTEST CAR.
Keene, NH, manufactured in 1930, Kingsbury Company’s Golden Arrow Racer friction racer; an accurate pressed steel scale model of the famous, word’s fastest car. Incredible futuristic design, with mammoth water cooler side tanks, wedged nose, torpedo shaped body, and bold tail fin. Working order friction “motor”, and steerable front axle, with rubber Dunlop racing tires. All original condition, very nice dry painted surface, showing minor age related wear. Rubber front bumper long gone from it’s slot; otherwise totally complete. A wonderful toy “sculpture” survivor, with a most interesting historical reference.

BITTERSWEET PAINTED MORTAR AND PESTLE.
Rare bittersweet color, original paint, maple mortar, with boldly shaped oak pestle. Late 18th or early 19th C, found in Vermont. Retains very strong dry original painted surface, with natural scrubbed interior, and dry, nutty, unpainted pestle. Excellent form, with numerous incised rings, slightly swelled body, above reel shaped, footed base. Three minor, tight age cracks, to body of mortar; otherwise perfect. Ancient small chip at cap of pestle. Excellent, overall.

FORGED IRON DINOSAUR/BIRD HEAD FIGURAL ANDIRONS.
Fabulous whimsical dinosaur/bird head forged andirons, late 18th -early 19th Century, found in Maine. Whimsical design with boldly raked dogs, displaying split forged, curled “scales”, which act as log stops, supplementing the front mushroom capped stop. Twisted iron neck terminates in a bird’s head, with incised slashed feathers, supported on raked and splayed legs. Functionally rather unsuccessful, these andirons hold their own as graphic folk art sculpture. Excellent overall condition, with age appropriate weathered surfaces. One beak with ancient chip loss.

VERY RARE IRON PETAL BASE EARLY 18TH C SPIRAL CANDLESTICK.
Exceptional forged iron pigtail handled candlestick with eight lobed petal base, double vase and ring turned column, beneath four pigtail embellishments, with octagonal disc cap, spiral shaft terminating in second octagonal cap with pigtail carrying handle. A pigtailed socket riser, within the spiral, completes this incredible device. A wonderful example of utilitarian form, developed as a superb blacksmith’s accomplishment. Untouched, in early black painted surface. Amazing !!!!

Rare size personal bowl, mid 18th C, maple, with boldly turned large chamfered rim, beehive turnings, and delicate foot, with inverted bottom. Dry, original crusty red paint, with it’s original thin varnish crazed protective coating. Dark, nutty interior, great patina, with a chop marked bottom, as shown. Out-of-round shrinkage, crack free excellent condition. New England origin.
